I do not think that Morrisons should be able to sell alcohol until midnight. Headington is usually nice and quiet soon after 11pm. This would add to noise, disruption for local residents and mess in the area. It is really not a good idea. Plus the fact that people would drive to Morrisons for alcohol late at night. Its a really bad idea.

    • At least one other resident has objected to this licensing application on similar grounds. I think we need to bear in mind that that the midnight close time is standard for all licensed supermarkets shutting at 11pm. I think this might be to cover shoppers who are still queuing up at the service point during the closing down period. The closing date for comments to the Licensing section of the City Council has expired and there will be a hearing on 22 July when all the arguments will be discussed by a committee of councillors. The report by officers is not yet ready as they are reviewing comments and feedback, and this will include comments by Thames Valley Police among others. R
