Festival: Old is the new Young

Oxford residents aged 50 and over are invited to attend next week’s Old is the New Young festival.

The event will feature an information fair, internet café and a range of free taster sessions.

It will take place at Oxford Town Hall on Wednesday 30 September between 10am and 4pm.

The event has been organised by Oxford City Council and OXFORD 50+ NETWORK to celebrate UK Older People’s Day.

 

The festival will feature:

–       Internet café with young volunteers offering advice about getting online

–       Free health assessment from staff at Fusion Lifestyle

–       Hear and join in with the local Singing for Fun choir

–       Try seated yoga, tai chi, boccia, table tennis and more

Speakers for Tuesday’s Ward Focus meeting

We are delighted that Mary Gill, from Low Carbon Headington, and Marcus Thompson, representing Asylum Welcome!, will join us on Tuesday 29th September from 6:00 pm at Headington Baptist Church Hall, Old High Street

The meeting will finish promptly at 7:30 pm as Ruth has a Headington Neighbourhood Forum Steering Committee meeting at 7:30 and Roz is going to the St Andrew’s Church meeting which finishes at 8:00 pm. Tuesday is a busy evening for Headington folk!

Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend the whole meeting, or just a part of it.
